Amplify impact through policy reform

New schemes introduced, unaccompanied by rationalization

There are 4,500+ welfare schemes across union and state, resulting in benefits and recipients’ overlaps, token allocations, heavy administrative burden and evaluation inertia.

We are co-creating an effective welfare stack that enhances fiscal prudence for the state and offers measurable socio-economic mobility for its citizens.

We are focussing on three key priority areas across the spectrum of policy making:

Fiscal Prudence

We help states maximise impact per rupee by ratinalisation fragmented schemes and converging overlapping programmes. Through outcome-based resource allocation and smarter budgeting, we build an optimal welfare stack that strengthens fiscal sustainability and household resilience.

Design & Reform

We redesign large public schemes to improve efficiency, targeting, and long-term impact. This includes transitioning inefficient subsidies to DBT where appropriate, embedding an investment-focused lens, and ensuring agile, inclusive systems that protect vulnerable groups.

Impact Evaluation

We shift the focus from spending and coverage to measurable socio-economic outcomes. By embedding citizen impact into decision-making and building annual review mechanisms, we help create welfare systems that continuously learn and improve.

India Basic Income Coalition

We are a community of practitioners, researchers and activists with pan India and global experience working on building unconditional cash transfers as a transformative tool of society policy.

We have designed, implemented and studied such programs in various parts of the country and hold experience at the intersection of policy delivery and citizen update.
